Ascension Lutheran Church (ELCA) has been a presence in the Kentwood and greater Grand Rapids area since 1962. We embody a relaxed approach to liturgy and embrace an inclusive theology which offers a place at the Table for ALL people.
Ascension is an affirming and inclusive Christian community. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, and whether you are single, married, divorced, separated, or partnered, our welcome knows no boundaries. Regardless of age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, economic condition, physical or mental ability, we believe that God delights in the diversity of creation and so do we!
On June 1, 2014 we began to worship with The Church of the Holy Cross' congregation in our Two Churches building (with the liturgy [the service] drawn from both the Lutheran and Episcopal traditions).
